As Yoda himself once said, "Always two there are, no more, no less… A master and an apprentice." That might now apply to animated anthologies that tie into other in-universe Star Wars stories, because following 2022's Tales Of The Jedi, we now have its dark twin, Tales Of The Empire. Check out the trailer for the new series:
Created and written once again by Dave Filoni (who also serves as supervising director), this, as the title might lead you to believe, features stories from the point of view of the Galactic Empire. We follow two warriors on divergent paths in different eras. One, Morgan Elsbeth (voiced by Diana Lee Inosanto, who of course played the character on The Mandalorian and Ahsoka) channels the loss of everything and everyone she loves into a seething anger that offers the Imperial forces (especially Lars Mikkelsen's Thrawn) something they can exploit.
There is also former Jedi Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger) who is forced to do whatever it takes to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. Also popping up here? The Grand Inquisitor (with Jason Isaacs – hello! — on vocal duties, General Grievous (Matthew Wood) and, because he just can't help being around… one D. Vader. Darth to his friends.
Tales Of The Empire will be on Disney+ on a slightly notable Star Wars-y date. That's right, June 29! Just kidding… May 4th.
