Review:
For those who not old enough and missed the original The A-Team on television a few decades ago, this TV series plot was about a group of mercenaries consist of four men with different characters. In order to completing a mission or task, they like to plan everything carefully, and then executed it with no mistake at all, thus they don’t need a “plan B”. Most of the time their plans seem reckless or impossible, but that what made it interesting.
Now for the movie, the story started on how the group gathered. Started with Hannibal who tried to save Face, where he got help from fellow Ranger, B.A Baracus, in the middle of the way. The trio then tried to escaped from Mexican corrupt officers by the help of a mad pilot, Murdock, who fly them out from Mexican border with hospital’s chopper. This was how The A-Team assembled, and also, how B.A got his fear of flying.
The story then jump to eight years later in Iraq, where after completed a lot of missions The A-Team become a highly respected special task unit in the military force. The command believe them in difficult and discreet missions, sometimes even for black covert ops.
I’m not gonna tell detail about the story, so, in short, they were framed of doing an illegal operation, where the general who sent them into the mission was murdered so no one will back-up their story. They then being court-martialed and verdict for ten years in jail. Having no more faith to the system, they planned their great escape and tried to find for themselves the man behind their set-up.
Like the original The A-Team series, the planning and execution part are the most interesting part of this movie. Fast pace, impossible stunt, intense action, and explosion everywhere, make this movie very entertaining to watch and successfully reboot the TV series.
Although, entertainment is the only thing that you will get. Don’t ever expected to get character and story development, or even some logic from the action scene. But, that doesn’t matter at all, because The A-Team was never about all those things. Mess, noisy, and fun action, are the most important aspects for you who looking for pure entertainment. So, enjoy as it is…
